For those of you brave enough to come to my “Humans vs Tech” talk the other day ... or for those of you who’ve followed or supported my Nourish story ...
... this is why I harp on constantly about the rise of the broligarchy and the damage it has done:
first to the way that news media operates (subservient to the pressure exerted by the ai-algorithms of the social (ie. advertising) behemoths)...
second to the actual consumption/conglomeration of the news media itself.
You may not like the news. You may not read it. Not believe it. Not have time for it. It may not be an important part of your life ...
... but democracy does not exist - in any meaningful sense - in a world where the news media is acting in the interests of the administration and not in the interests of integrity, transparency and of the people it serves.
It is that simple.
And make no mistake - what’s happening in the US can and will happen here in the UK to an accelerating extent ... unless we can find, create and support whichever party is brave enough to talk seriously about the regulation of industry ... most particularly the tech industry.
